Petrified Forest and Painted Desert
Interestingly, the first sights to see when you enter the Petrified Forest National Park at the main entrance is the Painted Desert. That's OK, as you can see the beauty in the following 5 photos: 
We finally found some petrified wood by walking down into the canyon from The Painted Desert Inn:
We also found this twisty tree on the path down into the canyon:
